We have some very nice new cycles in from Italy.
This Gervasio is gorgeous….Moser frame, Pentagraph De Rosa chainrings and the rest is Campagnolo as you would expect.
Frankie Ciao Ciao can’t take her eyes off it.
Speaking of Italians, this video footage from the Giro d’Italia is beautiful…with the afore mentioned Moser steaming through the hills.
The narrator is good to- I am sure he used to narrate the really boring science videos we had to watch at school.
We now have a tandem so that if we want to drop a bike off or pick one up, one of us rides the bike, one rides the tandem, and eventually we both go on the tandem.
It’s a Claud Butler, mid 50’s…it has obviously been resprayed at some point- judging by the clashing blue and pink fade, I reckon it was done in the 80’s.
That’s Ray there, Angry Ray as he is affectionately known (by us).
He drops by most days, has a cup of tea, puts the world to rights, tells us a funny story, usually littered with expletives- and more often than not he will bring a wee gift, some nice bread, a bit of cake and once some gone off milk?
I love the tandem. And Ray.
Around this neck of the woods it’s quite usual to have film crews dropping in willy nilly- shooting this, shooting that, blah blah blah
We had a girl come in with a Motobecane tandem that she had picked up in Devon whilst on holiday. It was in a right old mess as it had been left outside forever.
She really wanted to get it up and running for a tandem triathlon, which sounds like a right good giggle- it’s at Bishops Castle in Shropshire this weekend- I think the event is more about fun than being the worlds strongest and fastest.
Anyway this tandem was seized and creaking, removing one part just led to discovering another part was shot. It was like peeling an onion.
On the stand
The trouble was the whole thing was about fun and we didn’t want costs to spiral out of control.
Anyway by hook or by crook Rob managed to get it back in working order and the girls were made up.
We are hoping Jane comes and shows us some pictures as it looks like it would be quite funny judging from this picture I found from last years event.
Check out the hubs, amazing
