Mark Cavendish backs cities fit for cycling

Mark Cavendish did a wee interview with The Times and unlike many ‘celebrities’ he voiced his opinion. OK it’s not going to go down in history as one of the worlds greatest speeches, but he raises some valid points and having a great British cyclist on board can only ever be a good thing; plus he seems like a nice fella (irrelevant, but a bonus).

Customers and their bikes – Woodrup

In the heat of summer days
With sunshine all ablaze,
Here, here are cool green bowers,
Starry with Jasmine flowers;
Sweet-scented, like a dream
Of Fairyland they seem.

And when the long hot day
At length has worn away,
And twilight deepens, til
The darkness comes – then, still,
The glimmering Jasmine white,
Gives fragrance to the night

London Nocturne on TV

It was few weeks ago now, but for those who missed the nocturne you can watch it here . You may note Anna Glowinski won the longest skid competition. Girls don’t usually win these kind of things. She is formidable. She is the brains behind and team member of the Mule Bar Girls. They ride all disciplines and tend to do it pretty well. I was in a race once that they entered. Anna floored me. I am not the jealous type so I won’t hold it her against her, everyone has their strengths- I am sure I can do things that she can’t do. I bet she doesn’t have double jointed elbows.

New security measures

We are not being paranoid or anything, but we know there are  light fingered little so and so’s out there who would have the shirt of your back given half the chance. That’s why we have decided to invest in some security measures in and around the shop.  People feel less inclined to steal if they know they are being watched.

Whatever you do don’t look back into her eyes, she hates it. She will watch you, but you don’t watch her. Not ever.

M.Steel road bike – For Sale

M.Steel is from the north east. As a shop it has actually been around since the late 1800’s, but has only been in the world of making and selling bicycles for about 80 years.

In 1980 Geoff and Dave Yates founded ‘M. Steel Lightweight Cycles Ltd’ so they could manufacture high quality custom steel frames. Not so long after this Joe Waugh came on the scene, at this point he was at the height of his cycling career. Joe acted as a mobile test bed for the company products. The company became established and well respected and managed to  build quality frames right up until 2005 when demand from aluminium bikes meant their business was no longer sustainable. God damn aluminium!

This bike is in very nice original condition. She is a real head turner and comes from a good line of blood.

I am sure she will be snapped up in no time.

Top tube 58 cm, seat tube 60 cm.

She comes rebuilt and fully serviced.

As always pop by or send us an email if you want any more info.

Condor classic 531 Road bike – For Sale

This piercing blue Condor jut came in. Very nice. Condor of course still exist and they still make bikes. The desirability of both their new and classic bikes seemingly never dwindles. A great British Classic built with Reynolds 531 and fitted with a Shimano 105 groupset, you can’t really go wrong with this.

As you can see she is  currently configured with flat bars, but needless to say we can change the stem and fit drops if required. As with all our bikes she comes fully rebuilt and serviced.

Toptube – 54cm – Seat tube – 54 cm
